As far as I know, this is not the same Johnny Adams as the guy who released stuff on SSS International and Hep'Me. Whoever this guy is, he sure has got a great voice and is on this tune supplied with a meaty backing track with great brass stabs and girl-backing vocals. I really rate this track but I've never seen it on any playlists. Perhaps it's too cheap or I just have crap taste... There are other good Johnny Adams tunes on Modern (particularly a fine, dare I say superior, version of Bettye Swann's "Don't Wait Too Long") so check them out if you can.
